FAMU gets tough win against NCA&T

The Florida A&M Rattlers beat the North Carolina A&T Lady Aggies in three sets Friday night.

Coach Tanio Trifonov didn’t like the effort from his team Friday night despite the win.

“Injuries are a part of the game nothing serious we just have some minor tendonitis, but that to be expected from playing so much,” said Trifonov. I feel the team came completely unprepared for the challenge.”

First year biology student Yeisha Arcia was recently named MEAC Freshman of the week.

“We didn’t take this team seriously,” said Arcia. “We needed to pick it up.”

The Lady Rattlers as a whole feel they should play better than they did Friday night.

The Rattlers had three players with double digit kills. Maria Ceccarelli , a fourth year literature student from Lima, Peru had 11 kills against North Carolina A&T.

“We need to improve to get better,” said Ceccarelli. “I know we will get 200% better for the next game, we just didn’t play well tonight.”

The Rattlers look to put their last sub-par performance behind them as they play North Carolina Central Sunday. The last time Rattlers played the Golden Eagles Florida A&M won in five sets.

The game will take place Sunday at the Alfred Lawson center Sunday at 3 p.m.
