Rattlers beat Hornets

The Florida A&M Rattlers improved their record to 2-2 in a gritty victory over the Delaware State University Hornets.

Sophomore QB Damien Fleming came up big once again for the Rattlers passing for 399 yards and 3 touchdowns completing 30 out of his 37 passes. Fleming also rushed for 28 yards and caught a 6 yard pass from WR Lenworth Lennon giving him 433 all-purpose yards.

Both defenses struggled to keep the opponents’ offensive attack contained for the majority of the night but it was ultimately the defense that sealed the game for FAMU, holding off two 2-point conversion attempts after giving up touchdowns in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

The Rattlers take on Southern University next Saturday in the Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic.
