Troy Harris named intern of the year

Troy Harris, a marketing student from Decatur, GA, was named the Multicultural Advertising Internship Program (MAIP) Clarence Leroy Holte Intern of the Year this past summer at Top Advertising Firm.

Harris beat out students from New York University, Howard University, University of Chicago and other colleges around the country.

“It was quite a shock,” Harris said. “It was great to take my abilities into a new arena  and spin it to work for me.”

The 22-year-old did not know what he wanted to major in before coming to college, but after watching the film, What Women Want in 2000, he became intrigued by the advertising industry.

During the internship, Harris worked in the Account Management Department and the Creative Department. He also worked with MikePEP, which implements promotions for the known “Got Milk?” campaign.
