Norfolk State University claimed an unexpected 86-84 win Friday against University of Missouri in the second round of the NCAA 2012 basketball championship tournament.
In their first ever appearance at an NCAA championship game, Norfolk State Spartans, the 2012 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, upset the No. 2 seed Missouri Tiger’s Men’s basketball team. Next for the Spartans will be a showdown with University of Florida Gators.
Norfolk State qualified for the tournament last week by winning the annual MEAC championships against Bethune-Cookman University, Florida A&M’s rival school.
