Rattlers Defeat Hornets 65-55 in MEAC Championships

Florida A&M Rattlers beat Delaware State Hornets 65-55 in the second round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Thursday.

In the first half the Rattlers came out strong, Amin Stevens was the leading scorer averaging 13 points. The Rattlers went into halftime with the lead.

After the half the Rattlers and the Hornets battled for the lead. This would cause the teams to go into over time 53 each. However, the Rattlers took back the lead and won the game, thanks in part to free throws. 

The Rattlers were ranked 11th in the conference until Tuesday when they bested sixth-seated Coppin State 74-72, paving the way to their advance and win against the Hornets. Avery Moore’s scoring lead to FAMU’s win Tuesday. Delaware State was ranked third in MEAC.
