Blues-Classical Fusion Comes to Tallahassee

Corky Siegel’s Chamber Blues concert is coming on Thursday at the Thomasville Center of the Arts.

This evening will be a night of relaxation featuring the smooth and rhythmic sounds of the blues “juxtaposed” with classical music.

Corky Siegel, the founder of the Corky Siegel’s Chamber Blues, does not like to use the word “blending” when explaining the unique style of mixing classical and blues music together.

Instead he uses the word juxtaposing.

“When you blend blues and classical music together you usually come out with jazz; however, when you juxtapose blues and classical music together you end up with two kinds of music maintaining their own identity, working together to create a whole new experience,” said Corky Siegel.

This once-in-a lifetime chance to experience this unique sound of music will begin at 8 p.m. Admission for students is $15 and $35 for adults.

The event will take place at TCA, which is located at 600 E. Jackson St., Thomasville, Ga.

“Watching them perform is nearly as much fun as hearing them play,” Blues Review Magazine raves on the Thomasville Entertainment Foundation website.
