Gov. Rick Scott Names Three to FAMU’s Board of Trustees

Governor Rick Scott recently appointed three persons to Florida A & M University’s board of trustees, according to a press statement from his office.

The government announced Wednesday that Kelvin L. Lawson, 47, Rufus N. Montgomery Jr., 39, and Belinda R. Shannon, 50, would serve on the board from their appointments that day until January 6, 2016.

Lawson of Jacksonville, is a national client services director for Acosta Sales and Marketing and he succeeds R. B. Holmes. Montgomery of Atlanta, Georgia, is the managing director of governmental affairs for Hall Booth Smith and Slover P.C and he succeeds Daryl Parks. Shannon of Wake Forest, North Carolina, is the vice president of corporate human resources for GlaxoSmithKline and she succeeds Angela Rouson.

Florida’s Senate must now confirm the appointments.
