Florida A&M University (FAMU) and Florida State University (FSU) are co-hosting the second annual State of the Student Summit scheduled for Sunday, March 27, at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center.
Seven-time GRAMMY award-winning gospel singer Kirk Franklin, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, environmental activist Van Jones, Executive Director of Communications and Development for the State University System Kelly Layman and Twitter co-founder Dom Sagolla are panelists at the event. It is scheduled to start at 6:00pm.
“The purpose of the Student Summit is to bring a variety of panelist to empower students on various issues such as budget cuts, health care, entrepreneurship and environmental sustainability. It’s imperative that we keep our students up-to-date with current issues not only in the U.S. but the world,” FAMU SGA Vice President Breyon Love, a junior accounting student, was quoted as saying in a press statement.
