Advance for TV 20 homecoming wrap up

This year will be the first time the homecoming show will be broadcast over the Internet.

“This is our 14th year of doing the homecoming show,” said Kenneth Jones professor and broadcast journalism sequence coordinator. ” It has been the only show and the most consistent show that we’ve done through Florida A&M University. We are 14 years strong.”

“Finding Venom” will be the show’s theme for this year. In an effort to keep the audience entertained and interactive with the show, reporters will search for the Rattler mascot throughout the show in the various homecoming activities. The show will capture moments from the varying university events, such as, the Gospel concert featuring Kirk Franklin and the Homecoming Convocation featuring FAMU alumna, guest speaker Sonia J. Myles, Director for Global Printed Packaging Purchases Procter and Gamble Company.

The specials will feature the first place winner of the Southeast regional Society of Professional Journalists award, Karisa Olds from Graceville, Fla. Also, in attendance will be Markia Bulter from Jacksonville who served as the 2009 president of the FAMU Association of Black Journalists.

Tune in this Thursday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. on TV 20 for the 2010 Homecoming special or you can log onto famu.edu/sjgc.
