Conference touches on grad school

Some students aren’t fully prepared for a difficult decision that is getting closer each day: life after college. For students who aren’t sure what road they will take, the FAMU Graduate Feeder Conference, Research Forum, and Recruitment Fair will be held Wednesday. ?

A variety of workshops and seminars will be held in the banquet room in the Alfred Lawson Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of the conference for those interested in pursuing graduate school.

Tara Mosby, a 20-year-old Public Relations student from Houston said, “I am looking for a grad school that will help me acquire even more skills than I’ve learned here at FAMU.”

The same values held true for another student pursuing graduate school.

“I look for location and reputation when looking at a potential grad school,” said Jason Johnson, a 22-year-old senior Accounting student from Atlanta.

The following day, students can attend a research forum at the School of Architecture atrium from noon to 5 p.m. There will be an awards banquet at Hotel Duval from 6 to 8 p.m. for faculty and research forum participants. ?

Johnson also stated, “From this seminar, I expect to learn about the actual process of submitting applications.”

On Friday, students can kick start their weekend by going to the Graduate and Professional School Recruitment Fair in the Grand Ballroom from 9a.m. to 3 p.m. If you have any questions about these events contact Linda Knight or Khindra Decossard at 850-599-3505.
