PRSSA hosts an Adobe InDesign Short Course

FAMU’s Public Relations Student Society of America will host an Adobe InDesign Short Course on Thursday, March 18. The event which will take place in the School of Journalism and Graphic Communications Room 3133 at 7:00 p.m. will give non-graphic students the opportunity to learn about the features of the publishing software. The event is free for PRSSA members, and cost $1 for non-members.

“If you’re not a graphic person, you still need to know how to do graphics and design,” says Kamaria Rogers, PRSSA Vice President and fourth-year Public Relations student from Orlando, Florida. “This course will teach the basics of InDesign, how to lay out a page, how to do a brochure and how to identify and use the tools of InDesign.”

Tiffany Bain, a third-year Public Relations student from Miami and PR Director of PRSSA, says this is an opportunity for students who are using Microsoft Publisher to learn about Adobe InDesign. “If you can’t afford the software, we are using the ones in the computer lab and it will only cost you one dollar,” says Bain.

The course and InDesign fundamentals will be taught by SJGC Professor Brandan Craft. “Come out and support PRSSA and gain marketable skills,” says Bain.

Other events PRSSA are hosting this week include a donation drive on behalf of the Tallahassee Women Refuge Center.
