FAMU student arrested on murder charge

A Florida A&M student is being held in the Leon County jail awaiting to be sent to a Palm Beach County jail following his arrest on murder charges. The U.S. Marshals arrested Adrian Leebrent Hunter, 18, on Sept. 15. The Jupiter, Fla. native was arrested in the 500 block of Gamble Street. Hunter is charged with third-degree murder with a firearm, aggravated battery with a firearm and manslaughter with a firearm. According to a statement from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Hunter was allegedly involved in a street fight in Palm Beach, ultimately ending in the death of 23-year-old Vladimir Valcourt, who was a Palm Beach native. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office, four to five people in two separate vehicles, Hunter included, confronted Valcourt in the Boynton Beach area, and fired upon him following a dispute. The report does not make it clear if Hunter was the shooter.The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office pursued Hunter initially, and then gave the case to the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force as he fled the county’s jurisdiction. “Now that he’s been processed in Tallahassee, he will be extradited back to Palm Beach for arraignment,” said a representative for the Marshals. FAMU administration was unavailable for comment as to Hunter’s status as a student.
