Perpetual violence ruins society

It is a catch phrase that is often uttered in times of stress – six simple words that form a question that should instantly solve everyone’s problems.

Can’t we all just get along?

Apparently not.

According to the Tallahassee Democrat, a third man was arrested in the gang-related shootout at the McDonalds/Circle K on Lake Bradford Road.

Darvauta Vaughn, 24, is charged in connection with the death of Curtis Brown, 26, an innocent bystander.

Vaughn was arrested two days after the shooting, which took place March 29.

Unfortunately for him, this isn’t his only charge.

He is also being charged with shooting in public, shooting into a building, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a gun by a convicted felon.

Shame.

This begs the question – can’t we all just get along?

Gang-related shootouts are, of course, nothing new.

However, it does seem that each time these shootouts take place, someone ends up hurt or even worse.

The shooting left Brown dead and six others injured. Reports found on the Democrat’s

Web site state that two of the suspected shooters were injured as well.

Was it really that serious?

Whatever the two gangs were arguing about couldn’t have been that significant.

Chances are that the situation could have been avoided.

It just seems as if too many of our young brothers and sisters are being taken out by gang related violence and it has to stop.

After all, can’t we all just get along?
