Neighbors need predator warnings

A 61-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on  charges of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under the age of 12, according to tdo.com.

Beaudet Talbot, a resident of the Ochlockonee Bay area, was arrested at his home, said Lt. Jason Newlin of Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office.

Two children, ages six and 12, were identified as victims.

Newlin said at this time, they are trying to identify other victims.

According to Newlin, evidence like photographs and VHS videotapes were confiscated from Talbot’s home.

Sadly enough, Talbot lived next door to the victims and was able to lure the children under the guise of being a “friendly neighbor.”

Talbot is being held without bail at the Wakulla County Jail, according to tdo.com.

This is a sad and unfortunate situation.

This man is truly sick.

These poor children will be traumatized for the rest of their lives.

The officers in this case said the investigation is ongoing.

My main question is where were the parents? Was a background check done on this guy?

There is a law that clearly states that families are supposed to be notified if there is a sex offender living in their neighborhood.

A notice or some form of forewarning should have been given to this family.

Parents should be more protective of their kids.

There is so much that goes on these days and many people are not sane.

Most parents want to let their children have a little freedom but it’s hard when people like Talbot are in this world.

The officers said they are still investigating to see if there are more victims.
