Sam’s Club to help students, host open house

Sam’s Club is set to hold an open house Sunday, October 26th for Florida A&M University.

Geared towards FAMU students, the event is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. and food and fun is in store for guests.

Jamal Raddar, the business and marketing manager of Tallahassee’s Sam’s Club, said they are offering a special gift card for all collegiate members.

“Given the situation with the economy today, we know the budget strain,” Raddar said. “The regular membership [to join] is $40. If a student joins, they will get a $15 shopping card. This is our way of helping college students.”

There will be free pizza combos giveaways for the first 25 students who become members.

There will also be free samples of seafood and rotisserie chicken.

In addition to this, Sam’s Club has dropped prices in an attempt to make their merchandise more affordable.

Raddar said the open house will feature a pumpkin tossing contest in addition to a contest for the best orange and green outfit worn.

However, in order for FAMU students to partake in the fun, they must bring their Rattler cards. Raddar promises a good time.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun and a lot of prizes,” he said. “Students should come out, hang out and have fun. The advantage of having a membership at Sam’s Club is that students will have access to our low prices.”

The FAMU Open House will be held at 3122 Dick Wilson Blvd. For more information contact 850-671-5959.
