Turning Point Campus Ministries will host the Turning Point Summit Meeting from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the B.L. Perry Lecture Hall Room 100. ANNOUCEMENT

The Student Government Association would like to announce that tickets for the Baton Rouge game package and the 2008 Homecoming Concert are available. Baton Rouge package tickets will be available until Oct. 15 and are $85. They include transportation, hotel and a game ticket. Student tickets for the 2008 Homecoming Concert will be $28.50. Tickets can be purchased in the ticket booth located in the Student Union building near the post office. The FAMU Student Government Association, in collaboration with other campus organizations, will be registering students to vote throughout campus and in classes from Wednesday, Oct. 1 – Monday, Oct. 6. Contact SGA at (850) 599-3624 for more information.

The Ladies of the Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. are having Project Big Book Bag going on now until Oct. 3.  They are collecting school supplies for children in the Bond Community. The FAMU Green Coalition invites all students to come to its next meeting at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, in the Lecture Hall of the School of Journalism & Graphic Communication. We will be filling the two remaining vacancies on the E-Board: secretary and historian. All interested students may apply. We’ll also be discussing our new constitution. Plans for the fall include participating in the Campus CANpaign Challenge (we beat FSU last year and plan to do so again this year), recycling at the homecoming game, getting 2,500 FAMU students to sign the Power Vote pledge (in support of the environment), and distributing free compact fluorescent light bulbs later this month to communities near campus. The Learning Development and Evaluation Center (LDEC) will host an Open House and Renaming Program and Reception on Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. October is National Disability Awareness Month. FAMU Naval ROTC will host the annual “FAMU Homecoming Spirit Run” on Monday, Oct. 27 (during Homecoming Week) at 9 a.m. Participants will run or walk a two mile journey around campus. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place runners and walkers will receive a free gas card. The Mighty Melodic Bloody-Up Upsilon Psi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., FAMU Rattler Boosters, and FAMU Athletics will be hosting “The Friday Night Strike” Bragg Stadium Block Party from 6 p.m-10p.m. The Marching 100, FAMU Football Team, FAMU Cheerleaders, and community organizations will be performing.
