Argument results in campus shootout

Six shots were fired near the south end of campus around 1:30 p.m. Friday. Police are currently investigating the shooting, which occurred near the Set on Martin Luther King Blvd.

Police have taken four individuals into custody that were seen fleeing the scene in a silver Pontiac vehicle. Eyewitnesses say the shooting reportedly began with an argument between two men who have not been identified. It is unknown at this time if the suspects were FAMU students.

Classes in the Benjamin L. Perry building have been cancelled for the remainder of the afternoon while investigators process the scene. The FAMU E2Campus system sent out an alert at 2:30 saying that the situation is under control.
