Police thwart break-in

Around 2p.m., the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a home invasion robbery at the Stratford Courtyard Tuesday.

“TPD responded to a neighbor calling, saying a man entered a home with a ski mask on, and they believed it to be a robbery,” said Officer David McCraine, TPD’s public information officer.

Upon TPD’s arrival, a suspect fled, while darting shots.

In the 300 block of Meadowbrook, the suspect attempted two carjackings, failing in the first attempt.

Traffic was blocked off on Jackson Bluff Road and Bellevue Way between Mabry St. and Ausley Road. The Leon County Sheriff’s Department locked down Sail High School and Bellevue Middle. One person who fled the crime scene was apprehended. The home invasion victims were found tied-up.

The suspect has been described as a black male between ages 20-28, 5’8-5’10. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded pullover, a windbreaker and blue jeans, while fleeing the scene in a 4-door black Ford Taurus, with the following Florida tag number: C720SY.
