Baron Blackwell, the husband of slain FAMU professor Sheryl Shivers-Blackwell died at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Saturday morning.
Blackwell had been in critical condition at Tallahassee Memorial since Thursday night. Police say that’s when he called 911 to report that he and his wife were injured.
When police arrived they found Shivers-Blackwell dead. Blackwell was rushed to the emergency room in critical condition.
Police say Blackwell’s injuries were superficial, but they are waiting on an autopsy to determine his cause of death.
Despite the couple’s death, police say the investigation into who killed Shivers-Blackwell continues, but do not believe anyone else was involved.
