The Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. kicked off their week of events with “Freedom of Speech,” a night of poetry and artistic expression.
“Uplifting of the Black Family and the Vanishing Male” was held Tuesday to discuss important issues that are affecting the black male today.Wednesday, the AKAs participated in the National Black AIDS/HIV fair on The Set along with other organizations.
Thursday was a day of community outreach, as the AKAs collected various items around campus to help benefit The Shelter. Today the sorority will hold the “High Price of Bling” to discuss the improvement of economic relations. The AKAs will end their week with a formal ball, “Pink Ice.”
