FAMU GRADUATE KILLED IN CAR ACCIDENT

A former Florida A&M University student died Wednesday after being involved in aserious car accident Monday afternoon.

22-year-old Jasmine A. Stafford just graduated from FAMU this past weekend.

Stafford was driving on Interstate 10 around 4:15 Monday afternoon when her cardrifted to the left. She overcorrected and her car spun out of control.

According to a report filed by the Florida Highway Patrol, the car crossed bothwestbound lanes, went down an embankment and struck two trees and came to reston the north shoulder facing east.

It took rescue crews several minutes to extract Stafford from her vehicle. Whenthey were able to free her she was flown to Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala., inserious condition.

She died Wednesday afternoon.

Funeral services for Stafford will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bethel AMEChurch, 501 W. Orange Ave.
