Calling all students who are interested in making a difference during this upcoming election season, as well as with various issues concerning our campus right now. The FAMU String Orchestra has rehearsal Mondays at 3 p.m. and Wednesdays at 6 p.m. Rehearsals will be in the FAMU band room. Interested players of any level are welcome to attend. The Thomas DeSaille Tucker Leadership Institute is collecting books for a remodeling project on April 22. Books may be turned in to the Department of Academic Affairs office in SGA. The Lovely Ladies of the Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. will be hosting a book bag drive to benefit elementary and high school students of Tallahassee for the 2006-2007 school year. LeMoyne Chain of Parks Art Festival will be held Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lewis & Bloxham Parks.

The Sodexho Servathon team will provide 25 volunteers on Saturday, April 22, 2006 between 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Shelter located at 400 West Tennessee Street to assist in feeding the homeless. This is part of Sodexho’s Servathon to help fight hunger in Tallahassee. Spring 2006 Commencement Rehearsal will be held April 28, 4-6 p.m. in Gaither Gymnasium. Attire is business casual. The Graduates’ Reception will immediately follow rehearsal. The reception will be on the Intramural Field. Morning Commencement will be held Sunday, April 30 at 9 a.m. The Line of March begins at 8:40 a.m. The afternoon ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. with the Line of March beginning at 1:40a.m. Commencement will be held at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center. Attire is business casual.

The Campus Bookstore will be open Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. The hours for Sunday, April 30 will be from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Jake Gaither Community Center is sponsoring a health and information fair Saturday, April 29, from 10:30a.m. to 1:30p.m. Free health screenings, live entertainment and refreshments will be offered at the fair.
