Dominique Drake’s Commentary on Gov. Ryan

Almost all would agree that a “blanket pardon” has its flaws, but so does sending an innocent person to death have a flaw…a final flaw. Only 4 people were set free; the others are sentenced to life terms behind bars; guilty and innocent. The Governor’s action was courageous and demonstrated great regard for life that only God can give.Dominique Drake would do well to speak with his elders about the taking of human lives (Black lives) without due process, that was common place when I was a student at FAMU less than 50 years ago. Maybe, just maybe, some innocent person may have a life by the actions of this Governor. However, I am not sure if I would characterize “a life term behind bars” as life.Think about from the heart, and not the head.
