Mugabe’s comment out of line

Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe stated Monday that President George Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s alliance is similar to that of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.

The bold statement definitely shocked the staff of The Famuan.

The Associated Press reported, “Countries such as the U.S. and Britain have taken it upon themselves to decide for us in the developing world, even to interfere in our domestic affairs and to bring about what they call regime change.”

For someone to compare President Bush to Hitler is definitely unorthodox.

Hitler was a man that committed genocide on a mass of Jewish people.

Some may say that President Bush is committing the same immoral crimes when it comes to helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina, but those situations are on totally opposite sides of the spectrum.

Politicians from all over the world, and even U.S. citizens have downgraded President Bush for what he does, but people need to realize that it is impossible for one man to please everyone.

There are always others, who feel neglected and out of touch with the president. But he (Bush) believes his actions are for the better of the majority.

Since some people complain about President Bush’s leadership, there should have been a larger turnout at the polls in order to get him out of office.

People sit and complain about issues pertaining to the president, but they refuse to get up and do something about it.

We respect the comment from President Mugabe, but it is a little far fetched to compare Bush to Hitler.

Maybe in the trenches of President Mugabe’s heart he believes it, and he surely is entitled to his own opinion.

Everyday more news is published in order to bash President Bush and many of us may be guilty of it too.

But we, as U.S. citizens, need to realize the magnitude of President Bush’s job and that he will never be able to satisfy the needs of every citizen of the country.
