Homosexuality not from birth

The California Senate voted Thursday, Sept. 1st to allow gay couples to wed, becoming the first legislative body in the nation to approve same-sex marriage without a court order. In the California state capital Thursday, an emotional debate erupted, with proponents calling same-sex marriage a civil rights issue.

Sen. Deborah Ortiz (D-Sacramento) likened arguments in favor of the state’s current marriage laws to those used to intern Japanese Americans during World War II and to justify slavery. “History has shown that that was wrong,” she said. How can Sen. Ortiz compare gay rights to slavery? Slaves did not choose to be dragged into a country that forced them to work for little or no compensation and be beaten to death for entertainment. Comparing slavery and civil rights to homosexuality is simply putrid. Homosexuals chose their lifestyles due to their personal likes or dislikes, slaves were never given an option.

It is preposterous to see how man has redefined marriage, a concept that was beautifully created by GOD. Society has perpetuated this lifestyle as OK through TV shows like Will and Grace. Hollywood has propagated the myth that when it comes to marriage “all you need is love.” I do not deny that many homosexuals feel deeply for their partners. However, no matter how deep the feelings, it is not a marriage in God’s sight. Just because an emotion is deep or powerful does not justify acting upon it.

Like drugs, adultery or the love of money, there are emotions that are powerful, addictive and destructive. Can two men or two women reproduce?

Leviticus 20:13 (NKJV) reads, “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.”

We cannot bend the principles of God’s Word to suit vocal minority groups.

Many now believe that homosexuality is part of who a person is from conception. The “genetic and unchangeable” theory has been promoted by gay activists and the media.

There is no evidence that proves homosexuality is “genetic.” How can scientists argue that this lifestyle is somehow genetic or innate? A conservative friend of mine once said, “If you were born with this so-called ‘gay or lesbian’ disease, then there needs be a vaccine created in order to stop this plague from spreading.”
