Response to Faculty Jeopardizes the Set

The editorial board’s opinion disagreeing with faculty concerns about the Set couldn’t be further off base. While I agree that it is important for students to have place to congregate, they should not interfere with the faculty doing their job and students doing theirs. That is to say that excessive noise and providing too much of an incentive to skip class should not be allowed on a university campus. I am an alumnus and I know the “appeal” of the set. I also know that my alma mater is dead last among public universities in Florida when looking at 4 and 6 year graduation rates according to the Education Trust. Maybe the editorial board should reexamine its priorities and address more important issues in the Rattler community.
