The A&W Vision

The A&W Vision for our University

Supporting our University PresidentWe envision a presidential search that is conducted with the highest degree of integrity. We will gather student input and push for the appropriate presidential candidate. Moreover, we will work with our Interim President Dr. Castell Bryant to ensure a smooth transition in university leadership.

FAMU Board of TrusteesWe envision a Board of Trustees that values student opinion. In addition to hosting “Speak Up & Speak Out” sessions before every Board meeting, we will introduce a “weight system” to determine how Trustees’ votes are cast.

Safety & SecurityWe envision a university with tighter security practices to reduce theft and crimes on campus. We will ensure better lighting in parking areas, increase funding for the Safe Team, and pressure the FAMU Police Department to have a stronger walking presence on campus.

Our Athletic ProgramWe envision a first class athletic program. Our athletic program is facing a budget deficit; meanwhile, the prime season for recruiting athletes is upon us. It is important for us to support alumni and our Board of Trustees in an effort to raise $1 million.

Alumni Affairs We envision a harmonious relationship between the FAMU National Alumni Association and current rattlers. We will provide continued awareness of the Student Life Membership Program, Student Subscribing Life Membership Program, and other initiatives through the Student National Alumni Association.

TechnologyWe envision a technologically advanced FAMU. By working with the Office of Information Technology Services, we will continue to acquire and implement the newest computers, technology, and software on our campus.
