Make most of free time

Is it just me, or does it feel like life is passing by quickly before our very own eyes? Well, in my eyes the years seem short and the days seem even shorter.

It was just yesterday that my entire day was pre-planned: wake-up at six, get to school before the late bell rings and after eight extensive hours – dismissal. After school, I was off to work.

When I got home, it was time for homework. That routine continued day after day for years.

But now I am in college and I have all this free time on my hands. I feel as though I should be more productive and able to get a lot more accomplished in twenty-four hours. However, I find myself in bed taking a nap rather than utilizing the leisure time I have in a better way – like studying or going to the gym.

Even though I am pleased to say that I have almost completed my first year of college; this has proven to be a bittersweet experience as I recognize the transformation from teenager to adult. It is apparent that life is a phenomenon that has the ability to take us in many different directions. And I urge everyone to take life into the palm of your hands and mold it into what you want.

We must understand that time is of value. We really don’t know how much time we have.

Often a life is ended unexpectedly. Although we have no control over death, we do have control over what goes on when we are here on Earth.

As Booker T. Washington said, “Any man’s life will be filled with constant and unexpected encouragement if he makes up his mind to do his level best each day.”
