Snakes strike Mercer 10-3 to cap doubleheader

The second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against Mercer University saw the Rattlers continue the hitting barrage started at the end of the first game. The Rattlers battered the Bears’ pitching staff scoring 10 runs on 15 hits.

“I was ready for the game today, I was hyped. This is my first year starting and I am just trying to make the most of it.” said Kevin Clethan, a sophomore center fielder from Tampa, after batting 3-4 with six RBI’s in the second game.

After the game, coach JoeDurant was visibly happy that the Rattlers were able to get their first win.

“We made some mistakes, mostly base running, but we were still able to pull out the win. Our pitching was not as sharp as we wanted it to be, but it is a win. We got the W, that’s all that matters.”
