Voice endures

Happy New Year and welcome to another year on the Hill.

After you have gotten over the hump of trying to get overrides, checking on your financial aid and trying to find a convenient parking space, just relax and pick up a copy of the voice of Florida A&M University.

The Famuan, the most frequently published black college newspaper, provides comprehensive, regular and accurate news coverage of the university and community. It also gives you the opportunity to understand how journalism works in society.

Also, The Famuan is inherently and rigorously interdisciplinary. We provide valuable experience in leadership and staff supervision.

The Famuan is designed to assist you in enhancing your competencies in evaluating opinions, making decisions and reflecting critically on the justifications for decisions.

We also provide the ability to engage effectively and appropriately with information and communication technologies.

To maintain the role of an independent watchdog of the university, we collect, analyze and organize information to convey those ideas clearly and fluently to our readers. This year, we will strive to identify problems, create solutions, innovate and improve current practices.

Look out for creative art designs, new informative and fun pieces, along with impacting and moving sections.

We invite reader feedback and participation in the publication through paper, e-mail, phone, fax and in-person visits. Please stop by our office located in Room 309 Tucker Hall.

We wish you a fun-filled, creative and exciting year. Go Rattlers!
