VOLLEYBALLThe volleyball team defeated Jacksonville University in three straight games 30-14, 30-18, 30-17. The Lady Rattlers hit .377 for the match and were led by Adriana Kostadinova who had 13 kills and seven digs. Jayli Jackson contributed 12 kills and had a .647 hitting percentage. Adrian Andonova hit .583 and added eight kills. Setter Mariela Portocarrero put in 44 assists. The Lady Rattlers play tonight in a weekend tournament at the University of Florida. The first game starts at 7 p.m.
MEN & WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRYThe Cross-Country team finished 5th place at the University of Florida’s Gator Invite. The 8K meet was held at the UF golf course Saturday morning. FAMU men finished with 109 points. Omar Osbourne led the Rattlers with a 26:26.85 time for 19th place. Others placing were Brandon West (22nd 27:08.87) and Eric Ward (27:43.32). The women’s team placed 7th with 199 points. Their next meet is tonight at the Florida State Invitational. The women’s race begins at 6:30 p.m. and the men start at 7:00 p.m.
