Important Info!

Dear Florida A&M University Student News,I’m writing to you in regards to the young teen actor Tavares Jamal Cherry, who will be attending the university this fall 2002 as a student (freshman). The young actor wanted to put a hold on his rising career and excel in a college education provided by a historical black college. Mr. Cherry plans on a Political Science major, here at the university.

Mr. Cherry began acting in 1999, at the crack of the millennium. His talents showed many that a new star was on the verge. In 1999, he began doing shows in Las Vegas. He worked on a show for 2 seasons called, “Show in the Sky!” His role as Nathan McCall set him off into the future as an entertainer. In 2000, the young black actor (16 years old) began to start modeling and doing runway shows. He was a huge success! He has done over 40 runway shows in Milan, NYC, Los Angeles, and Chicago. In 2001, Mr. Cherry began his role as a Hollywood MovieStar on the rise. He started as an extra in the ALI 2001 film starring Will Smith! Tavares and Will discussed a lot on the set from time to time about the business of acting. Late in 2001, Tavares was cast as a principal role in the film, “Uncle Nino!” The film stars JOE MANTEGNA . The film is due to hit theaters in 2003! Tavares was recently this past week offered the role of a lifetime. He will be starring in a film called, “QUASSIOUS,” which will be shooting in late 2003 or early 2004! Tavares says that’s a good thing because he can concentrate on earning a college degree from one of the best historical black colleges (Florida A&M University). The film “Quassious,” is to shoot in South Africa and Tavares will be playing the role of a 10,000 year old vampire. The producers are still searching for a Hollywood director to take on the role as director.

Tavares has other films lined up under his belt. Some of the titles are: BlackOut, The Cat in the Hat starring Mike Myers, and etc… A role in Bad Boys 2 is currently being discussed with Producers now. He also will have guest roles in films, soaps (All My Children), MTV, and etc… Basically, this young 18 year old, actor is on the verge of stardom. Many people don’t seem to understand why he chooses to attend college but as Tavares would say, “College is a once in a lifetime experience!” I’ve been Tavares’s talent agent since 1999 and I will continue to represent him throughout his voyage. This is his freshman, therefore, he wants to just enjoy being a student at FAMU! He has been assigned to Gibbs Hall dormitory. Lets wish him the best! Mr. Cherry was interested in being a royal escort for Homecoming this fall 2002, if it is possible please send us info so we can get back to him. He is also interested in being a FAMU Striker, and SGA! He wanted to try out for the football team but our director of the talent company isn’t approving of that!

P.S.

Below is one Tavares Jamal Cherry’s favorite quote that he often recites! Good Luck! Good Luck with your new Rattler and Shinning Star!

I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure ,a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success.
