Senate sends phone bill to Gov. BushThe bill that raises the cost of phone bills that passed the Senate Thursday is on its way to the governor’s desk.Supporters say it will lead to greater competition and lower in state long distance charges.Opponents, say there’s no guarantee customers won’t end up with overall higher bills.Telephone companies estimate the increase would be between $3 and $7 a month.

3 cent hike in postage stampsA 3 cent raise in postage could come as soon as June 30. The postage would be 37 cents for first class mail. The raise of postage is the result of declining business due to the events of Sept. 11.
