Non-Floridians do not care about local politics

While I think it is wonderful and very admirable to encourage the student population of Florida A & M University to get involved politically, I believe the notion falls on deaf ears.

Too many of the students who attend this university – even those from Florida and especially those who are out of state students – somehow feel that what happens in the political realm of Florida while we are in school does not apply to them. Some simply tell themselves, and actually verbalize the fallacy, that they remain politically active at home.

If you are in Florida when voting occurs, then Florida is where you should be able to make a stand with your vote.

I sometimes think that they simply discard the fact that many of our ancestors died for such a feat as being able to bubble in a choice on a piece of paper.
