Rattlers take on Norfolk Spartans

Saturday at 4 pm, the Rattlers will host the Spartans of Norfolk State at Gaither Gym. Norfolk, who was defeated by Delaware State 82-62 Monday night are 4-4 in the MEAC conference and 5-13 overall. Guards Terrance Winston (17.4 points per game) and Darryl Towe(11.8ppg) are Norfolk’s top scoring players and have aided the Spartans in winning five games this season. Although Winston averages higher than any player for FAMU, the Rattlers still have a chance at victory.

The Rattlers, who are now 4-13 overall and 4-4 in the conference, defeated Coppin State Monday, giving them a two-game winning streak.

Dominique Jackson racked up 23 points and Sonny Tudemes, scored 12 points against Coppin State. Jackson and Tudemes are who the Rattlers will look to for the win. Mike Griffith, who did not play on Monday, has been averaging 14.5 points per game and should also play an essential part in winning Saturday’s game. The Rattlers finished with a record of 6-22 last season and are already off to a good start in exceeding last year’s record.
