New health building history in the making

I was pleased to see the Nov. 19 article that addressed campus construction by Ms. Melissa Bridgewater. New buildings are indicative not only of physical growth but also of curriculum and program enhancement.

I was saddened that the article did not mention the construction of the new Allied Health Building, Ware-Rhaney II. This is a major project to be completed in late 2002, earlier than the journalism building mentioned in the article. The allied health building has already made history.

Beginning at midnight on Nov. 11, and lasting for 12 hours, the concrete was poured for the foundation of the building constituting the biggest single concrete pour in the history of Tallahassee!

I observed the amazing process for several hours.
